Alcoholism Can Result In Damaged Body Organs If Taken In Large Amounts

Obsession, loss of self-control, aggression and incessant use – these are more or less the signs and symptoms that make up an addiction. Anyone, even you, can become addicted to any substance, activity or behavior without even knowing it. Even daily activities such as eating, cleaning, shopping, plus cooking can easily become addiction that can make any person’s life difficult, which in turn additionallymakes it hard for individuals to make out if they’re addicts.

People become addicted because these substances and activities create a chemical change in the brain that triggers a craving. As a result of this endorphins are released inside the brain makingaan individual feel good. Alcoholism which is very addictive is a major concern of our society.

Alcoholism is a chronic, progressive, and sometimes fatal illness characterized by a strong craving to drink, being unable to stop drinking, physical dependence and withdrawal symptoms and tolerance or the heightened difficulty of becoming drunk. In a nutshell alcohol is a depressant that limitsinhibitions, as well as guilt and fear feelings. It also drops awareness and impairs motor coordination, discretion, and judgment, among others. Alcoholics can be of any age, background, and income level, social, ethnic, or marginalized group.

The effects of alcohol focused on an array of reasons, some of which include a person’s age, size, weight and sex, plus the amount fo alcohol and food consumed. Alcohol is also known to damage a person’s heart, brain, kidneys, liver, and other organs. It may even cause cancer. In high doses, it can even lead to death. Alcohol make you feel relaxed and stress-free, but if you drink it excessively, it may also cause depression. It also causes dizziness and talkativeness. Alcoholism creates social and legal problems in the sense that it modifies your normal behavior. Because of this you can become aggressive, violent, and face the liklihood of doing something against the law, for instance domestic violence and child abuse. Studies have found that people under the influence of alcohol have the ability to effeciently manage the effects of a self defense weapon or a stun gun. Commonly they do not feel any paid. Additionally, alcoholism can effect an individual financially too. Countless people known that alcohol isn’t cheap. You could spend more than a million without even knowing it, and especially when you are drunk.

A wide array of treatments is available for a person with alcoholism problems; however, getting alcoholics into treatment is never easy. Countless individuals reluctantly agree to the treatment because they are in denial about their problem. Family intervention usually helps alcoholics to accept the need for prompt treatment. While this is known to work for numerous individuals, just like any chronic illness, the success rate of treatment varies immensely. With proper treatment, however, a person may be able to refrain from drinking alcohol longer and the more likely he will be able to remain sober.
