Ever heard of EFT Tapping – Emotional Freedom Tapping? Are you experienced in doing EFT?
My purpose here is to, tell you what Emotional Tapping is and describe the basic method.
Initially, the process was developed by Gary Craig, Emotional Freedom Technique founder. With your fingertips, you tap, on points on your body’s energy system on your torso and your face. While you are tapping, you remember an event.
Your thoughts and feelings about the event shift. Here is an example of this tapping technique.
We’ll use the example of an upsetting memory of your young life. You are getting caught doing something wrong. I bet you can still feel the bad feeling of getting caught.
And throughout your life, you’ve believed that deep down you were somehow defective, even though you may not be consciously aware of that belief.
Here is the way you’d use EFT therapy to clear the disturbing emotions and beliefs you still hold from that event.
You think about the event while you tap with your fingers on energy points on your torso, head and face. The most common eight points are used by most EFT practitioners.
While you focus on the memory, and especially on your feelings from the event, you tap the points. Your focus can also be on the belief that was formed in that event. – that you are a bad person, or that something is wrong with you.
What occurs, is that after you tap while tuned into the event, your emotional charge changes. Your emotion can change from anger to peace. Your emotional state can alter from anger, anxiety, resentment, blame – to a sense of understanding and calm. You can go from feeling insecure to feeling confident.
As when you learn any worthwhile skill, there are beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. But with a simple Youtube EFT video, you may be super-jazzed to learn more about EFT.
