A Young Male Requires Treatment For His Intense Depression, Relationship Issues, and For His Drug Dependency and Alcoholism in Order to Discover Happiness in His Life

About eight months ago I had dinner with a thirty-one-year-old male named Alexander who suffers from extreme depression, has relationship issues, and who is drug and alcohol dependent. As declared by Alexander, it is his alcoholism and drug addiction and his severe depression that had the most to do with his endless relationship difficulties.

I recall reading that a history of mental health issues, drug addiction, and careless and abusive drinking frequently take place in the same family. By Jerry J. Jansen On May 28, 2010 No Comments

Would you ever offer your services to volunteer in Kenya? If not, why not give it a go? Volunteering Abroad is an extremely popular activity to take part in, whether you are volunteering in Zanzibar teaching children sports or working on a HIV/AIDS project. The most beneficial aspect of volunteering is there is something for everyone to participate in. Volunteering covers a wide range of activities leaving no stone unturned.

Volunteering is a truly unique experience which should most certainly be treasured by all. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to travel to another country and community to lend a helping hand and make a difference. The voluntary work that you do abroad is only half the fun. Not only will you be helping communities and local people in need by sharing your knowledge with them you will also get to experience a whole new culture, new food, new sights and sounds and of course if your lucky a new language. The experience is out there now so why not go and embrace it today.

And then thoughts come popping into my mind like bubbles from nowhere – “How did their life become so adorably sweet? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?”  Then I pause and observed for awhile… I figured out that maybe, they start to work on a place called ‘self’.

So, how does one become genuinely happy? Step 1 is to love yourself.

My theology professor once said that “loving means accepting.”  To love oneself means to accept that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections must lie a great ounce of courage to be able to discover ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes.

Genuine happiness also pertains to contentment. When you are contented with the job you have, the way you look, with your family, your friends, the place you live in, your car, and all the things you now have – truly, you know the answer to
